Its Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. West Reading businesses are encouraged to decorate their storefronts with pink items to raise awareness of breast cancer. The color pink was chosen for October because it is the universal sign for the fight against breast cancer.

We would like everyone who can come out to our very special “2nd Friday on the Avenue” hosted by the West Reading Community Revitalization Foundation, not only to support your local businesses but this month more importantly, it is also “PINK FRIDAY” providing a way for you to also support the Breast Cancer Support Services of Berks County.

As usual you can enjoy some great food, shopping, and entertainment. Muddy Creek Soap Company will be donating 10% of our sales that day to the BCSS a nonprofit that offers “hope, information and emotional support to every person affected by breast cancer”. According to BCSS, an average of more than 300 women and up to five men in Berks County are diagnosed with breast cancer each year.
